The Abbey Introduces ‘Heavenly Bodies’ Ongoing Party for Trans Community

WEST HOLLYWOOD — Wearing the hat as a community leader and pioneer on inclusivity within the LGBTQ community and its allies, The Chapel at The Abbey Food & Bar introduces Heavenly Bodies, an evening designed to celebrate transgender people and bring awareness to supportive organizations. The event will be hosted by Sasha Colby.

On Sunday, December 8 from 10pm-2am, The Chapel “will host West Hollywood’s first and only (and the city of Los Angeles’ only known) ongoing transgender nightlife event” featuring live performances by Kylie Sonique Love and Taryn and appearances by trans activists and models Eden the Doll, Gia Banks and Ariscetocrat.

In support of the Trans Wellness Center of Los Angeles, The Chapel at The Abbey will donate $1 dollar of the special Heavenly Bodies cocktail made with Illegal Mescal; guests of the evening can also make direct donations to the Trans Wellness Center at The Chapel or online here.

Heavenly Bodies will be a recurring Sunday celebration once a month at The Chapel at The Abbey.

Sam Smith, MJ Rodriguez and Gigi Gorgeous Spotted at The Abbey

WEST HOLLYWOOD — It was a heavenly evening of celebrity sightings last night in West Hollywood.  Grammy Award winner Sam Smith and MJ Rodriguez (transgender star of the Emmy Award winning show POSE on FX) stopped by The Chapel at The Abbey ‘Heavenly Bodies’ evening to celebrate and support the transgender and queer community. 

Hosted by Gigi GorgeousSasha Colby and other transgender models and activists, Heavenly Bodies drew in the famous singer (Sam Smith recently announced is gender non-binary) and actress to watch a lineup of transgender lip sync performances, including the #1 Beyonce impersonator in the world, Miss Shalae.

MJ Rodriguez looked incredible in her Donna Summer inspired wavy hair and synched-waisted jumpsuit, as she sat VIP sipping Veuve Clicquot with Gigi Gorgeous and friends.  Shortly after the lineup of performances was over, Sam Smith put on a performance of his own living his best life looking cute and casual while slow grinding with a friend out on the patio of The Chapel.

Heavenly Bodies is the only known transgender party in Los Angeles, held monthly on the 2nd Sunday at The Chapel at The Abbey (the world famous gay bar).

Miss Shalae aka Michell’e to Perform at The Chapel at The Abbey Jan 12

WEST HOLLYWOOD — The number 1 Beyonce impersonator in the world is set to perform this Sunday, January 12 at The Chapel at The Abbey’s Heavenly Bodies night; an evening celebrating the transgender community. 

 Miss Shalae aka Michell’e, whose video went viral for a cover song Beyonce performance while holding a trans flag, increased her popularity after being spotted in Beyonce’s Netflix Homecoming documentary and receiving a shout out from Queen Bey herself during Coachella which can be heard on the hit song ‘Sorry’. 

Miss Shalae will bring her ballroom version of Beyonce to West Hollywood while she vogues, struts and turns the dance floor of The Chapel into a catwalk made for a queen DIVA. Heavenly Bodies is Los Angeles’ only known monthly transgender nightlife event featuring live performances hosted by trans model and activist, Sasha Colby

Proceeds from specialty cocktails made with Illegal Mescal are donated to the Trans Wellness Center to bring additional support and awareness to the trans community.
