Los Angeles Police announced a significant arrest for the area was made last week in the robbery of a pro football player.
Two professional football players were visiting Los Angeles and were at a party in our area. One of the players was a victim of grand theft when someone at the party stole $10,000 from him.
The victim learned who the suspect was and was informed by other friends that he (the suspect) was at the Beverly Center Mall spending the victim’s money.
The victim responded to the mall and observed the suspect shopping.
The police were notified and the suspect was taken into custody for grand theft.
LAPD Seeks Help Finding 3 Robbers of Local LA Convenience Stores
LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles Police Department’s Northeast Area detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying three suspects responsible for a convenience store robbery.
On January 13, between the hours of 3:10 a.m. and 3:45 a.m., three suspects entered two local convenient stores. the first is in the 5000 block of West Sunset Boulevard and the second store is in the 4600 block of Franklin Avenue.
All three suspects took a number of items. They fled on foot, and no vehicle was seen. The same suspects have committed thefts at the Sunset Boulevard location many times in the past. Detectives believe the suspects live in the area.
The three suspect were described as male Hispanics in their 20’s. One was last seen wearing a white shirt, one a black long sleeve shirt and the third a black hooded sweatshirt and pants.

$145K in Cash Stolen From Van of Santa Ana Marijuana Distributor
SANTA ANA (CBSLA) – Authorities are searching for at least one suspect who stole $145,000 in cash from the van of a marijuana product distributor Wednesday night in a Santa Ana gas station parking lot. Jan. 15.
The theft, which was caught on security video, occurred at around 7:17 p.m. at a Mobil gas station in the 1300 block of East Dyer Road.
After collecting cash from several pot dispensaries, the victim had parked his van and then walked into the gas station. A Nissan Pathfinder then pulled up and the passenger got out and smashed the victim’s side window. He then took $145,000 in cash and sped away.

Gun Discharged in Beverly Hills Robbery, Suspect Arrested
On Saturday, January 11, 2020, at approximately 5:35 p.m., Beverly Hills Police responded to a report of an armed robbery involving shots fired.
A male suspect approached a male adult victim on the sidewalk in the 300-block of N. Canon Dr. The suspect displayed a firearm and demanded the victim’s property. After taking the victim’s property (jewelry), the suspect ran from the location. Sometime during his attempt to escape, the suspect fired at least one round from the firearm.
WeHo Daily reader Jonny Umansky heard the shots fired and said stores were immediately on lockdown. He provided a photo showing police blocking the streets.
No one was struck by gunfire and no one was injured during the robbery.
Officers responding to the location immediately located the suspect inside a retail store in the 200-block of N. Beverly. The suspect ran from police out of the rear of the store.
Police secured the area and began an extensive search. The suspect was located in the 200-block of north Beverly/Canon alley at approx. 8:30 p.m. and safely taken into custody.
Police said the suspect’s name and arrest charges will be available after the booking process was completed.
