The first contemporary coworking space showed up in 2005 in San Francisco. It was designed to give participants the best of both worlds: a place to fall into community while working on their own projects. BEVERLY HILLS (Wall Street Journal) — The Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is making a push to attract Middle Eastern royals and well-heeled celebrities. Now, a rival luxury hotel next door is alleging that the Waldorf stole corporate secrets and personal information about some of those VIP guests in an effort to win more of that business.

BEVERLY HILLS — Forbes Travel Guide announced its annual Star Rating list, presenting the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills with a new Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel award for the third year, and presenting the La Prairie Spa at Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills with a Five-Star spa award for the second year. The hotel’s signature restaurant, Jean-Georges Beverly Hills, was also given a Four-Star restaurant award. Located in the heart of Beverly Hills, Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills opened in June 2017 and boasts 119 deluxe rooms and 51 world-class suites. Construction Begins for Mixed-Use Development at 9001 Santa Monica Boulevard

WEST HOLLYWOOD (Urbanize LA) — Construction has commenced for a mixed-use development at the former site of The Palm Restaurant in West Hollywood. The project, which comes from developer GPI Companies , will rise from a .634-acre site at 9001 Santa Monica Boulevard.

Plans call for the construction of a five-story building featuring 37 apartments – including eight affordable units – above ground-floor restaurant space and two levels of subterranean parking.
