LOS ANGELES (TMZ) — A stolen hearse was involved in a police pursuit before it ended in a crash on the 110 Freeway in L.A. The driver has been taken into custody and law enforcement has confirmed the casket with the body is still on board.
Who ya gonna call? The Ghostbusters ain’t in L.A. yet, so instead the Sheriff’s Dept. is on the job, searching for a hearse, fully-loaded — if ya get our drift — that was stolen from a church.
Yeah, someone boarded the Hell Express and jacked a black Lincoln Navigator from outside a Greek Orthodox church in Pasadena … according to cops. The luxury ride was carrying a casket containing a deceased woman who was going to be delivered to a different location.
The theft strikes even L.A. cops as especially bizarre … or macabre.
The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department tweeted a helpful hint to the suspect, saying … “Out of all the bad decisions you have made, at least make one good one & bring back the deceased person & casket inside the Navigator.”
If you’re in SoCal, the Navigator hearse has the California license plate 7ZDG618.
Look for flames too. If the Sheriff doesn’t catch ’em, we’re thinking Satan will.
Bev Hills License Plate Cameras Set Off Stolen Vehicle Pursuit
BEVERLY HILLS — At 2am on July 27th, the Beverly Hills Police Department was alerted by an Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) that a stolen vehicle from Las Vegas was entering the City of Beverly Hills. A patrol officer quickly located the car and a high speed chase ensued – but the Las Vegas driver got away.
The stolen vehicle was found later – abandoned & unoccupied. A nearby security camera captured three suspects fleeing the car on foot. One of the suspects was observed by an officer running into an alley before jumping a wall and entering private property. A containment was quickly established and assistance from the Santa Monica PD, UCLA PD, and LAPD Air was brought in.
With the use of a drone and two K9’s, the suspect seen jumping the wall was located and arrested; the two other suspects were not located. The vehicle was recovered for evidence collection to identify the other suspects.
