WEST HOLLYWOOD — Seniors in Action, a pilot program for those 55 and up, is slated for Tuesday, September 24 at 2 p.m.

The monthly interactive event is presented by the West Hollywood Comprehensive Services Center in collaboration with the City of West Hollywood and its Senior Advisory Board.

Seniors in Action: Community, Connection, Conversation offers activities that provide engaging opportunities for participants to learn something new, contribute their talents and experience and deepen their connection to the West Hollywood community.

In the past, local seniors have enjoyed TED talks and discussions of ageism.  Founders of the program encourage attendance to fight isolation among older residents. It was created to celebrate senior month in the city.

Related events were the Spring Fiesta Senior Dance and Senior Health Fair.

It’s a chance for the city’s senior residents to get out of their living rooms…

According to John Allendorfer, vice Chair of West Hollywood’s Senior Advisory Board, “It’s a chance for the city’s senior residents to get out of their living rooms. It gives seniors a sense of belonging and visibility.”

To date, the program has been a resounding success.

Free monthly Seniors in Action meetings continue to be held at the library on the city’s west side.

Seniors in Action, September 24th 2:00 pm at the Hollywood West Hollywood Library Community Meeting Room, 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard.
