Photos: 24 Hour Fitness Set to Reopen after Remodel

Published

on

The 24 Hour Fitness in West Hollywood on Santa Monica Blvd is set to reopen on Friday after a long renovation period. Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll find at the facility.

To be sure, anything that the gym did during this renovation would have been a huge improvement.  The facility is now clean and modernized, but it appears that they were not able to smooth out the traffic flow in the disjointed space as much as one might have hoped.  Some things have been moved around, but it still feels like a confusing space.

Spa and sauna facilities are now unisex, accessed from the pool deck, which will likely assist the staff in changing the atmosphere in the locker rooms (especially the mens).

Several Internet kiosks are located on the main floor, with a few also located on the second level.

A clean and modernized cardio room has been setup at the far west side of the main floor of the building with flat screen televisions and some equipment also featuring a video screen.

Towel service is sure to be one of the most popular new features.

Overall, the renovation brings the facility up to date with the amenities expected by gym-going clientele in West Hollywood.  It’s adequate and clean, rectifying an unflattering prior reputation in that regard, but it otherwise doesn’t take the facility to any great new heights.

LOL, thanks for your comments. Yes, the gym is perfectly fine but I think they only brought it up to acceptable, moderate standards. That’s probably just fine and dandy because they are not trying to compete with Equinox or something even better. But let’s not kid ourselves… it ain’t equinox so obviously there is room for it to be much, much better than it is (if they wanted to make it better, which they probably don’t).

I was a member before then remodel and it really needed work. Really happy witht the results. ALL NEW EQUIPMENT!!! That’s all I really care about. No… its not Equinox. But then again… no one there is paying $120/month. Can’t expect to fly in First when you pay for coach!

I actually think it’s nicer than Equinox. Nice restroom, nice outdoor pool and saunas, tons of new weights…flat screen TV’s everywhere…it’s fabulous!!
