Pete Davidson Absent From ‘SNL’ After Controversial Interview

Published

on

(Page Six) — Pete Davidson was noticeably absent from an installment of “Saturday Night Live,” which comes a few short weeks after the 26-year-old comedian criticized the late-night series in a sit-down with Charlamagne tha God.

Davidson, who joined the cast of “SNL” in 2014, recently ignited a storm of controversy after discussing his experience on the NBC show, stating, “I’m literally painted out to be this big dumb idiot.”

“I personally think I should be done with that show because they make fun of me on it,” he said in the interview, which was posted on YouTube in late February.

Last week, Davidson skipped the “SNL” afterparty at L’ Avenue at Saks. Friend John Mulaney, who hosted the show on Feb. 29, […]

‘RuPaul Drag Race’: Sherry Pie Disqualified After Catfishing Scandal

'RuPaul Drag Race' Contestant Kicked Off Show After Catfishing Scandal

(TMZ) — ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ has laid down the hammer on one of their current contestants after a catfishing scandal came to light … and he copped to it himself.

Sherry Pie — who’s real name is Joey Gugliemelli — was disqualified from filming the rest of season 12, according to the official ‘ RuPaul ‘ Twitter page. The tweet reads, “In light of recent developments and Sherry Pie’s statement, Sherry Pie has been disqualified from RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

They continued, “Out of respect for the hard work of the other queens, VH1 will air the season as planned. Sherry will not appear in the grand finale scheduled to be filmed later this spring.” It’s pretty crazy … only two episodes of the new season have aired thus far.

Sherry has been introduced as a “big, loud Broadway dame” who considers herself the “Queen of camp.” A majority of the filming is presumably complete for Season 12, but ‘RuPaul’ usually films a live reunion/finale episode, and brings everyone back for it.

Sounds like Sherry won’t be though … it’s unclear how far along she made it in the show, but it appears VH1 will air the season as is, and simply won’t invite her back for any further participation.

The reason Sherry got the boot … at least 5 men have come forward to accuse Sherry/Joey of catfishing them over the years — allegedly posing as a casting director and asking them to submit explicit videos of themselves in degrading acts. One guy says he was asked to masturbate on camera, and he agreed.

Sherry addressed the controversy on Facebook, apologizing for the past behavior and announcing she was getting help and treatment. Not good enough, apparently … so long.

Elizabeth Warren Makes Surprise Appearance on 'SNL' with Kate McKinnon

(TMZ) — Elizabeth Warren looked herself in the mirror on a Saturday night … actually, she was just looking at Kate McKinnon who was playing her on SNL, and it was pretty funny.

The Massachusetts senator took the stage and first answered questions from Kate, who was playing FNC’s Laura Ingraham, who debriefed Warren on her exit from the race and the endorsement everyone wants to hear.

Then, as Warren thanked her supporters — various school teachers and teacher’s pets — Kate changed outfits and came out as EW.

It was pretty funny, but the reality is this … Warren’s support could sink Bernie Sanders . Her views are closer to Bernie’s than Biden ‘s, but she’s made it clear — she has issues with Bernie and she came within a hair’s breadth last week of endorsing Biden.

Court TV to Cover Trial of Robert Durst for Murder of Susan Berman

Published

on

LOS ANGELES — Court TV will provide coverage of real estate heir and subject of the HBO Docu-series The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst. Durst’s murder trial in Los Angeles, starting March 2.

Jury selection is complete, and the trial has begun. Court TV will air opening statements, closing arguments and the verdict, with on-going reports of the camera-less testimony and the trial’s most significant events.

Durst, 76, is accused of shooting and killing his longtime confident Susan Berman in her Beverly Hills home in 2000 to silence her from telling investigators what she knew about the 1982 disappearance of his wife, Kathleen, in New York. Making this case more sensational is that the defendant is the subject of the HBO documentary The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst.

In the last scene of The Jinx, Durst went to a bathroom and not realizing his microphone was still on said, “There it is. You’re caught. What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course.” After The Jinx aired, the investigation into Berman’s death gained momentum as the filmmakers unearthed a letter Durst had written to Berman. The envelope had nearly identical handwriting to a note sent anonymously to police directing them to Berman’s lifeless body.

Durst has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.

The unusual case has already been called “fascinating” by Superior Court Judge Mark Windham, the judge who will preside over the trial.  Judge Windham has told prospective jurors, “If you’re going to have one trial where you’re going to be a juror, this is the trial. These are the best lawyers I’ve ever seen…. You’re never going to have an experience like this.”

This will be the second time Durst has stood trial for murder. He was acquitted of the murder and dismemberment of neighbor Morris Blake in Texas in 2003 in a trial covered by the original Court TV. The former Galveston County Judge who presided over that trial, Susan Criss, will appear on Court TV live this afternoon to be interviewed by Seema Iyer.
