NFL Player Julian Edelman Arrested for Jumping on Car in Beverly Hills

Julian Edelman Arrested for Vandalism After Jumping on Car

BEVERLY HILLS (TMZ) — New England Patriots star Julian Edelman was arrested Saturday night after allegedly jumping on the hood of someone’s Mercedes … TMZ Sports has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us it went down this way … Julian was in Bev Hills walking around at about 9 PM when for some unknown reason he hopped up on the car, causing damage.

Impressive, considering the 33-year-old reportedly needs surgery on his left knee during the offseason.

The bad news for Julian … cops were in the area working a robbery case when someone flagged them down and gave them the lowdown.

Edelman was arrested, cited for misdemeanor vandalism and released. He left with his friends.

Our law enforcement sources say it was apparent to them Julian had been drinking … which might explain a lot about the incident.

The L.A. County D.A. will decide whether to file charges … it’s possible — very possible — this case goes nowhere if he squares up with the car owner, but we’ll see.

Of course, Edelman was only in Beverly Hills in the first place because the Patriots didn’t make it to the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs.

They were knocked out last week by the Tennessee Titans, which beat the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night.

We reached out to Julian’s rep … so far, no word back.

Harvey Weinstein Defense Strategy — Accusers Didn’t Break Contact with Me

Harvey Weinstein Defense Strategy -- Accusers Didn't Break Contact with Me

LOS ANGELES (TMZ) — Harvey Weinstein will be on trial for sexual assault, and as fierce as the prosecutor has been … Weinstein’s lawyers have their counterattack planned.

Weinstein’s lead attorney, Donna Rotunno, tells TMZ, the defense will attempt to pick apart the testimony of the alleged victims by making what she calls a “common sense” argument — that people who get assaulted don’t maintain contact with the perpetrator.

Rotunno says she has text messages and proof of subsequent interactions that support their position.

We know prosecutors will call a psychiatrist who will testify that it’s common for sexual assault victims to delay in reporting the crime and they will often continue to interact with their assailant.

As we reported, a lead detective in the case advised one of the initial accusers to delete information from her phone — information that helped Weinstein. Prosecutors decided to drop that accuser from the case to avoid credibility issues with the jury.

The defense has subpoenaed that cop, but a decision has not been made on whether to call him to testify. On the one hand, the defense doesn’t want to tell jurors there was a third accuser. But, on the other hand, the dirty cop does raise credibility issues with the investigation.

Rotunno also says she has also subpoenaed other witnesses who will testify about the relationships between Weinstein and his 2 accusers … the way they interacted, how frequently, etc.

As for picking a jury, Rotunno says women can be fair and impartial and she is not automatically excluding them. She believes some women feel the pendulum has swung too far in one direction with regard to the #MeToo movement.

Rotunno won’t say if Weinstein would testify, but it would be shocking if he does.

Lawsuit Accusing Actor Kevin Spacey of Malibu Sex Assault Dismissed

LOS ANGELES (NBCLA) — A federal lawsuit filed by a massage therapist — who has since died — accusing actor Kevin Spacey of sexually assaulting him in Malibu three years ago has been dismissed.

Attorneys for the plaintiff’s estate filed papers in federal court in Los Angeles Monday stipulating to the dismissal. There was no indication of whether a financial settlement had been reached.

Spacey’s attorney, Jennifer L. Keller, told the Los Angeles Times that Spacey “paid no money to ‘settle’ the lawsuit,” despite some media reports to the contrary.

Local news from across Southern California “The plaintiff’s estate simply decided to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice, meaning it cannot be (refiled) and we agreed to the dismissal,” Keller told the […]

Andy Dick Sentenced to 14 Days of Jail in Sexual Battery Case

Andy Dick Sentenced to 14 Days of Jail in Sexual Battery Case

LOS ANGELES (TMZ) — Andy Dick was sentenced to 14 days in jail for his sexual battery case, but is already out after only serving one night behind bars.

Dick was hit with 2 misdemeanor charges for the incident — one for sexual battery and one for simple battery. A judge ordered him to complete community service, which he failed to complete, so he got the 14 days in L.A. County Jail.

Lucky for Andy, he only had to serve one night — checking in on December 6 and out on the 7. He caught the break due to jail overcrowding.

We broke the story … the troubled comedian was charged after a woman filed a police report claiming he squeezed her butt twice as he walked past her on a sidewalk in April 2018.

As we’ve reported … this isn’t the only recent legal problem for Andy. He pled not guilty to one count of misdemeanor sexual battery for allegedly groping his Uber driver, also in April 2018. The male driver claimed Dick reached over from the back seat and grabbed his crotch.

Andy was involved in a bizarre street fight with an Uber Eats driver in October as well, which resulted in him being slammed to the ground and his head hitting the pavement. However, because he allegedly started the altercation by trying to take some food from the delivery guy … he was named a suspect in a battery investigation.

Dick also notoriously threatened to lick and grope one of TMZ’s photogs back in November 2017. Fair to say it hasn’t been a good run for him.
