New Luxury Hotel on the Sunset Strip, West Hollywood Edition

WEST HOLLYWOOD (Architectural Digest) — Los Angeles has officially gotten the Ian Schrager treatment with the hotelier’s newest addition to the Sunset Strip.

After years of anticipation, the West Hollywood Edition opened last month at 9040 Sunset Boulevard. For the design, Schrager worked closely with John Pawson on every aspect to achieve a blend of Tinseltown glam, refined comfort, and a bit of edge.

WeHo’s Edition Hotel Spa Jumps on the CBD and Hemp Craze

WEST HOLLYWOOD (Variety) — “Hemp is the plant of our generation,” says Amy Duncan, founder of the California-based Mowellens CBD skin care line used at The Spa at the West Hollywood Edition.

Unlike other cannabis plants, hemp produces higher levels of CBD but lower levels of THC, responsible for intoxicating effects. In beauty products, CBD has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits, is a calming agent and can combat acne or eczema.

“CBD and really whole plant hemp extract with terpenes have the ability to transform the skin,” Duncan says.

Sister Brands Montage and Pendry in Expansion Mode Over Two Years

NEW YORK (Hotel News Now) — Montage Hotels & Resorts is in expansion mode for both its Montage and Pendry brands with nine properties set to open in the next two years, President and COO Jason Herthel said.

The Montage brand portfolio has six operating hotels, with three in the pipeline: a 2020 opening in Healdsburg, California, with properties in Big Sky, Montana and La Quinta, California, projected for 2021.

The Pendry brand includes a hotel in San Diego and one in Baltimore, with properties under development for West Hollywood (2020); and Somerset County, New Jersey, La Quinta, Calif., New York City and Park City (all 2021).
