Three Assisted Living Facility Workers Accused Of Running Elder Fight Club Among Dementia Patients

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (CBS Local) — Three employees at a North Carolina assisted living facility are accused of running a fight club with elderly residents with dementia, police said.

Marilyn Latish McKey, 32, Tonacia Yvonne Tyson, 20, and Taneshia Deshawn Jordan, 26, are facing assault charges, according to a police report.

Court documents reveal that McKey is accused of pushing a 73-year old woman into her room at the Danby House in Winston-Salem. Authorities say that at the time, Tyson and Jordan filmed the encounter and did not help.

In a separate incident, court documents say that the 73-year old woman began to fight with a 70-year-old woman. All three women are accused of watching the fight, filming it and even encouraging it. […]

08/12/2019 @ 1725. A man removed a bottle of alcohol and left the store without payment. When confronted by an employee, the suspect pointed and waved a knife at the victim. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #05441

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon (Suspect Arrested)

08/13/2019 @ 1830. A man was looking through his suitcase when the suspect approached him from behind and took a shirt from the suitcase. A struggle ensued and the victim was cut on his arm with a glass bottle by the suspect. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #05459

Aggravated Assault – Knife (Suspect Arrested)

08/14/2019 @ 0115. A man attempted to stab the victim during an argument while standing on the sidewalk. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #05469

08/14/2019 @ 1336. A man was riding a scooter SB on Robertson Blvd when the suspect blocked his path and pulled a bag of clothing from his hand. A struggle ensued and the suspect threatened to stab the victim. The victim allowed the suspect to leave. #05477

08/15/2019 @ 2245. Two women removed $800 cash from the victim’s hotel room after being invited inside. The victim tried to stop the suspects from leaving and was threatened by two men associated with the suspects. #05503

08/17/2019 @ 0620. A man was walking to his car when two men approached him while armed with a gun and demanded his property. The victim complied and the suspects ran to an unknown car and fled the area. #05536

LAPD Patrol Car Crashes in Response to Aid Sheriff

An LAPD patrol car, possibly en route to backup a Sheriff’s deputy, was involved in a traffic collision during rush hour this morning.

The traffic collision occurred at about 8:10AM at Fountain Ave and Genesee.   A deputy from the Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau was involved in a fight at Holloway and La Cienega and an LAPD helicopter overhead spotted the trouble.  The helicopter called for LAPD units to respond while WeHo deputies also raced to the scene.
