Pubic Invited to Free Kids’ Arts Competition Gala Concert

WEST HOLLYWOOD — The XIII International Arts Competition for Young Performers 2019: Colibri, Dance Competition is coming to Plummer Park on Sunday, October 20, 12 p.m.
The Colibri (or “Hummingbird” ) competition promotes integration of all cultures, increases mutual understanding, and creates a favorable platform for the youth movement throughout the world. Four categories are spread over the year: film, dance, vocal and instrumental.
With the aim of artistic growth and community enrichment, the Competition on October 20 offers children who compete in the dance category the opportunity to perform in a Gala Concert in front of a live audience.
The competition is sponsored by the non-profit Unity in Diversity Arts Foundation to build a platform of creativity and performance in the community. The mission is to create and run cultural and educational programs in performing and visual arts for low-income families, children, and seniors.
The foundation is a part of the City of West Hollywood’s resident company program and is designed to help the City become an international multi-cultural destination.
For the past 12 years, this event has been one of the great projects that has attracted the attention of the international music community. The event involves over 600 competitors between ages 4 and 20. Entrants must fill out an application in their category. It can be downloaded on the Colibri Website.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Tatiana Rodzinek at (323) 848-6826 or trodzinek@weho.org.
