The Johnny Ramone Tribute returns to Hollywood Forever Cemetery with a screening of ‘The Warriors’

HOLLYWOOD (SGV Tribune) — To keep Ramones guitarist Johnny Ramone’s legacy alive, his widow, Linda Ramone, hosts an annual tribute at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. The event always includes a slew of big-name rock stars and celebrities, special acoustic performances and a film screening.

This year’s tribute takes place on Sunday, Aug. 11 and celebrates the 40th anniversary of the 1979 classic “The Warriors,” with a screening on the Fairbanks Lawn. There will also be a special photo exhibition curated by Mr. Musichead featuring iconic punk, glitter rock and rock ‘n’ roll photos on display in the mausoleum.

Sex Pistols guitarist and host of KLOS 95.5/FM’s “Jonesy’s Jukebox” Steve Jones, musician, actor and former “Saturday Night Live” star Fred Armison and other special guests are scheduled to appear. Fans will be treated to never-before-seen films by Vincent Gallo and rare archival footage of Johnny Ramone. DJ Howie Pyro will entertain in between screenings and guest appearances.
