Historic Bel Air Hilton Estate Hits Market for $225 Million

Published

on

BEVERLY HILLS –The Conrad Hilton estate, Casa Encantada, is on the market for the first time in decades since it was built in 1938, in the midst of the heyday of old Hollywood.

Its architectural legacy and a commitment of meticulous preservation shines through all aspects of this rare property.

The restored 40,000-square-foot modern Georgian mansion is situated on a promontory of more than eight acres in Bel Air, just 10 minutes to Beverly Hills. Famed architect James E. Dolena designed it with city, ocean and garden views from all 60 rooms.

Hilton owned the home for over two decades. The mansion and grounds have hosted some of the most significant social, charitable and political events in the United States, welcoming Presidents and Hollywood royalty alike over its 80 years.

Even as Los Angeles County’s population grew from just over 2 million in 1938 to today’s 10 million, the compound remains without neighbors and is expansive, private and secure.

Furnishings and interior designs were created by T. H. Robsjohn-Gibbings to set a new standard for lavish home design.

Fiber optic pioneer and philanthropist Gary Winnick and his wife of over 45 years, Karen, commissioned architect and designer Peter Marino, who with a team of 250 craftsmen spent more than two years bringing a museum-quality restoration to this estate. The couple has also owned the home for almost two decades.

Casa Encantada welcomes guests with curved iron gates that swing from stone bases. The sweeping driveway guides through lush, green surroundings to lead visitors into the main residence.

The dramatic entry hall leads with 18-foot ceilings that open into a reception hall, dining room and living spaces. The second story features living quarters that seamlessly integrate into the residence’s entertainment-centric first story.

An architectural pool house boasts a professional screening room, formal bar and vistas to the rose gardens and beyond. Other amenities include a north-south lighted tennis court, a separately constructed basketball court, a full guest house and multiple greenhouses. Koi ponds and landscaping make the estate arguably one of the finest in the world.

WEST HOLLYWOOD (Los Angeles Times) — The Sierra Towers highrise in West Hollywood has a long history when it comes to celebrities, but this particular condo may take the cake. Once home to movie mogul David Geffen, actor Vincent Gallo and pop star Cher, the residence is on the market for $6.495 million.

That’s $1.245 million more than Cher sold it for back in 2013, The Times previously reported. During her stay, the famed singer-actress decked out the home in a Balinese style that remains to this day.

Perched on the 26th and 27th floors, the unit is the only one in Sierra Towers to span two stories. In 2,300 square feet, it holds two bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms and a handful of eye-catching living […]

Kylie Jenner Buys $36.5 Million Holmby Hills Estate

LOS ANGELES (TMZ) — Kylie Jenner has just expanded her empire … because TMZ has learned she just bought a massive, new estate in one of the best areas of L.A., with a price tag of $36.5 million.

It’s an interesting move because Kylie’s become something of a land baroness in Calabasas, but this is miles away in the heart of L.A. — Holmby Hills.

The house is 15,350-square-feet and it’s billed as a resort compound. It’s a single-story, modern compound with a dedicated guardhouse. The house has a chef’s kitchen, an outdoor projection screen, home theatre, bars and game rooms, a gym and a championship-level sports court with pickleball/basketball.

The house also has 2 guest apartments, so she’s got ya, Stassi.

Kylie negotiated well … the house was listed at $45 mil.

The seller has a connection to Kylie. He also sold her land in the Palm Springs area where she’s building a home.

YouTuber Emma Chamberlain Buys Snazzy Modern Home From Cannabis King

Published

on

(Variety) — Last year, cannabis kingpin Andrew Modlin — co-founder of marijuana juggernaut MedMen — paid $11 million for a brand-new mansion in L.A.’s Bird Streets neighborhood, high in the hills overlooking West Hollywood.

And with no longer any need for his “starter” house down in prime WeHo, he soon listed the blocky contemporary structure and recently unloaded it for $3.9 million, the same price he’d paid back in 2016.

The striking home’s new owner is Bay Area native Emma Chamberlain, the 18-year-old YouTube wunderkind who has risen from obscurity to become — in less than three years — one of the world’s top influencers, a relatively new brand of Gen Z-propelled celebrity that […]
