Lindsay Lohan’s Attorney Meets with Judge… and Quits!

Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer had a confidential meeting with Judge Marsha Revel this afternoon, and the D.A. didn’t even know about it … TMZ has learned.

TMZ was told that her attorney, Robert Shapiro, breezed into the Beverly Hills Courthouse at around 4PM and went directly into chambers.

At first TMZ thought that Shapiro was making plans for Lindsay’s surrender tomorrow morning, but they just tipped us off that he actually has quit the case, telling the judge that he could no longer represent her.  No additional information is yet available.

This makes Shapiro the third attorney Lindsay has cycled through since parting ways with Shawn Chapman Holley, who represented her at the hearing where she found out she was going to do some jail time.  First, there was a lot of talk she was going with a brand new lawyer, Tiffany Feder-Cohen, who was just admitted to the bar in November.  Then, she brought in Chicago attorney Stuart V. Goldberg, a criminal defense attorney from the Windy City, but that didn’t work out after they met over the July 10 weekend.

Lindsay has been staying at a sober living facility for several days near Pico and La Cienega that is owned by her now former lawyer Shapiro.  Some speculate that the move into the facility is part of an effort to reduce her jail time, but as a condition of representing Lohan, Shapiro said that she had to agree to accept all conditions of her probation, including the jail time.

That doesn’t mean that she won’t try to reduce her jail time.  And until the news of her parting with Shapiro today, Weho Daily thought that she would go along and serve it out as first set out by the court’s order.  But that still might end up with her serving out only 3 weeks of her 3 month sentence, due to overcrowding of the jails.  But now, all bets are off!

This is her 5th time. Seriously, rehab doesn’t work for people who don’t beileve they have a problem. She’s a great actress and she uses that so much I don’t think she realizes what’s real and what isn’t. She’s going to keep doing this. It’s not only the drugs or drinks, it’s the habit or ritual that’s addicting. If she likes it and doesn’t want it to stop. Rehab won’t work.
