WEST HOLLYWOOD — As part of the City of West Hollywood Human Rights Speakers Series, a screening of Birthright: A War Story is scheduled for September 10th at 6:30pm followed by a panel discussion.
The series is offered in conjunction with Hollywood NOW.
The feature-length documentary exposes the truth of how American women are being jailed, physically violated, and even put at risk of death as a radical movement tightens its grip across America and allows states, courts and religious doctrine to govern whether, when, and how women will bear children.
Panelists include Civia Tamarkin, Writer/ Director, Birthright: A War Story; Michele Goodwin, Chancellor’s Professor, University of California, Irvine and Founding Director of the Center for Biotechnology and Global Health Policy; Emiliana Guereca, Founder / Executive Director, Women’s March Los Angeles Foundation; and, duVergne Gaines, Director, Feminist Majority Foundation’s Feminist Campus Program and National Clinic Access Project.
