Plans for Bieber Store at The Grove Fall Through

(L.A. Weekly) – Sorry, girls. It looks like that Justin Bieber shop that was proposed for the Grove shopping center in the Fairfax district is a FAIL for now, according to reports. The Avenues’ Third Holiday Walk Event on Friday

The streets and fashion boutiques of West Hollywood will begin the holiday season with The Avenues’ Third Annual Holiday Walk on Friday, December 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m, and Saturday, December 11, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Stores in the Melrose Village will be participating along Melrose Avenue from San Vicente to Orlando. On Friday, in conjunction with extending their hours, West Hollywood fashion businesses lining the street of Melrose, such as Alberta Ferretti, Alpha and Beckley, are creating special events for the evening. Enjoy entertainment, carolers, food trucks, refreshments and special in-store promotions and sales. The sales will continue throughout the day on Saturday. The Holiday Walk brings recognition to West Hollywood’s remarkable stores and encourages holiday shopping within the community, while embracing the holiday spirit.

(Los Angeles Times) – A fashionable crowd gathered Wednesday night at the Beverly Hilton for the Divine Design gala to benefit Project Angel Food, a nonprofit that cooks and delivers nutritious meals to people coping with life-threatening illnesses. The gala attracted a glittery crowd, which was treated to a rare runway show of Brooks Brothers’ neo-prep Black Fleece collection, designed by Thom Browne. New Interior Illusions Store to Focus on Calvin Klein Home

This December, Southern California interior design entrepreneur and tastemaker Michael Valles will open a new retail location of his Interior Illusions  store in West Hollywood near Beverly and Robertson. The new store will exclusively feature products from the Curator Collection by Calvin Klein Home. The store will be the only destination in the Los Angeles area for consumers to purchase products from the Curator Collection, which includes furniture, bedding, rugs, flatware, tabletop décor and more. “Even with the economic situation, there is still a high demand for furniture and home goods that are classic, modern and luxurious,” said Michael Valles. “With this new showroom, we are giving consumers a reason to come in and visit the new location by exclusively offering the Curator Collection by Calvin Klein Home – something they can’t get anywhere else in the area.”

New Shop FUK U on Melrose Prompts Outcry Over Name

Park La Brea News reports that “a store called FUK U is preparing to open its doors on Melrose Avenue. Calling itself a ‘Lingerie-Love Shop’, a large pink ‘FUK U’ sign currently hangs above the shop; a picture of a scantily clad woman covers the doors, with a caption beside that reads, ‘coming soon’.” The report says that Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Koretz is trying to figure out a way to force the business to remove the sign. Harry & David Opens for the Holidays on Robertson

Gift basket purveyor Harry & David has popped up its Harry & David Orchard concept at 108 North Robertson Boulevard for the holidays, according to Mondette. The store opened this past Thursday. Mondette reports, “You’ll find everything from boxes of pretty pears to myriad sweet and savory treats. Go by the store, and sample away on truffles, malt balls, trail mixes and the like… ”

Shopping Intel: First Days of the Fred Segal Sale

Racked LA reports that the Fred Segal/Ron Herman sale started on Friday, and it’s chugging along at an amiable pace. They say that there’s a good collection of clothing and shoes priced at 50% off. Of course, in the first few days, it’s hard to get too frenzied, since the discounts deepen as the sale goes on.
