Two Area Graffiti Suspects Arrested by Sheriff and LAPD

A 34-year old high profile graffiti vandal was arrested by sheriff’s deputies Thursday morning as he prepared to board a plane to Ireland at Los Angeles International Airport. Sheriff’s Metro Transit Services Bureau Special Problems Unit deputies were notified that Suspect Williams had a warrant for his arrest for failure to pay restitution to the victims of previous vandalism crimes. And in related news, Los Angeles Police arrested a graffiti vandal spotted on top of a building by an LAPD helicopter on Sunday evening. That incident occurred at about 5PM near Melrose and La Brea. The suspect was described as a white male carrying man purse or messenger type bag, and he left his supplies on the rooftop as he fled after being spotted.

Woman Bilked of over $200,000 by Psychic Met in Weho

A woman was to be arraigned today for stealing over $200,000 from an Irvine victim by claiming to be a psychic working to rid the victim of a curse inherited while in her mother’s womb. Lisa Debbie Adams, 35, Los Angeles, is charged with 32 felony counts of second degree commercial burglary, two felony counts of credit fraud, one felony count of grand theft, and one felony count of dissuading a witness with sentencing enhancements for aggravated white collar crime over $100,000 and property loss over $200,000. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of 30 years and four months in state prison. Adams is being held on $250,000 bail and must prove the money is from a legal and legitimate source before posting bond. She was expected to be arraigned today at the Central Jail in Santa Ana.

Man Convicted in Laurel Canyon Home Invasion Robbery

A jury deliberated less than an hour today before convicting the last of four people charged with a 2009 Hollywood Hills home invasion robbery that left a man and his dog wounded. Deputy District Attorney Amy Ashvanian said the jury found Phillip Anthony Pandy, 33, guilty of all counts, including home invasion robbery, attempted murder, cruelty to an animal, possession of a firearm by a felon and an allegation of personally discharging a firearm causing great bodily injury. He returns June 28 for sentencing by Judge Bob Bowers Jr. He is facing life in prison. Pandy and co-defendants Jerry Dean Cunningham, 19, Elizabeth Hernandez, 25, and Uriel Salomon Miranda, 19, all drove to the victim’s home in the 8200 block of Mannix Drive, in Laurel Canyon, shortly after midnight on Dec. 16.

Police Investigate Burglary and Fire at Hollywood Synagogue

Los Angeles Police Department officers set up a crime scene today at a Hollywood Blvd. synagogue following a fire and report of a burglary at around 8:30AM. The occurred at Temple Israel of Hollywood in the 7300 block of Hollywood Blvd. Fox LA reported that the police and fire department were called to the scene early this morning and that there were signs of forced entry on one end of the building near some classrooms.

Readers report that the ATF and FBI were on the scene. The ATF investigates incidents such as this at religious facilities.

Chairs Smashed in Altercation Near Yogurt Stop

West Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Yogurt Stop store on Santa Monica Blvd around 4PM today on a report of a fight in front of the popular business involving the establishment’s sidewalk chairs. It isn’t clear what started the incident, but Weho Daily reader Nick Stadler reported that it was a “shirtless guy in mortal kombat with another dude, attacking [him] with a Yogurt Stop chair.” That matches up with the information we have about the Sheriff’s response. They were initially seeking a muscled man with no shirt, yellow board shorts and tattoos as the alleged aggressor in the incident. Deputies were in the process of sorting out details about what happened along with what other victims or suspects were involved in the incident.  Potential charges might include assault, battery and vandalism.

Several Windshields Smashed on Orange Drive

Los Angeles Police were looking into a report of vandalism that occurred sometime before 2:15am on Orange Dr, between Sunset Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd. Windshields of at least 5 parked cars were said to have been smashed. The person making the report did not witness the incident… just the result of it.  No further information was available from the initial report to police.

Car Smashes into Building on Santa Monica Blvd

West Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies and fire department personnel responded to the scene of an accident on Santa Monica Blvd, near the 7-eleven store at Curson Ave, at about 9:15pm tonight. A car reportedly went into the building of the shopping center there. No further details were immediately available.

Vandalism Suspect Arrested from Roof on Melrose

Los Angeles Police are on the scene near Melrose Ave. and Mansfield Ave. where a vandalism suspect was just taken into custody. The man was on a rooftop, and it sounds like he was spraying graffiti in the area. A helicopter assisted in the arrest, and the man attempted to hide behind an air conditioning unit before he was flushed out by a spotlight from the air into the waiting arms of LAPD officers surrounding the location.
