FBI Seeks ‘Haggler Bandit’ in Area Bank Robberies

The FBI is seeking a bank robbery suspect that has hit two banks close to West Hollywood, along with several others elsewhere. The unidentified male bank robber has been linked to three bank robberies and two attempted bank robberies in the past week; four of the incidents occurred in the past day. The Haggler Bandit is described as an unidentified black male, between 5’8” and 6’, between 150-170 lbs. and anywhere from in his late 20s to 40 years of age. The suspect was given the nickname, “Haggler Bandit” based on the fact that victim tellers described him as having “haggled” to some extent over the amount of money he expected to receive based on his demand for cash.

Resident Fights Intruder on Huntley; Limo Driver May Be Suspect

West Hollywood Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress around 9PM on Tuesday evening. A resident on the 600 block of Huntley found an intruder inside their residence and fought with the suspect before he fled northbound on Huntley and eastbound on Sherwood. Numerous deputies were on scene within moments and setup a containment area, undertaking an exhaustive search for the suspect. The suspect was described as a male, Hispanic or Middle-Eastern, about 40 years old and heavy set. He was sporting a goatee and had a shaven head.

Transient Arrested in Pan Pacific Park for Two Cold Case Murders

Capital murder charges were filed by the District Attorney’s Office today against a 47-year-old Santa Monica transient accused of raping and fatally strangling two women in 2001 and 2002. Edric Dashell Gross (dob 7-29-1965) is scheduled to appear for arraignment tomorrow at the Airport Branch of Los Angeles Superior Court. The department will be announced in the morning. Gross was arrested by Santa Monica Police on Wednesday at Pan Pacific Park. He remains in custody without bail.

Shots Ring Out in Plummer Park, One Victim Hit in the ‘Ass’

Shots rang out in Plummer Park on Sunday night and one victim was hit while bullets missed their mark with two other victims, according to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station. One male victim was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound.  His reported to be in serious condition. All three victims were reported to be transients. The shooting erupted at about 11:20PM and at least one deputy was in the park at the time and heard the rounds.  That deputy reported the shooting and that screams for help were coming from within the park.  He detained multiple people running from the scene at gunpoint while additional units raced to the scene. Reports immediately began flooding in to Weho Daily at the same time.

DUI Checkpoint Scheduled for Sunset Blvd on Saturday Night

The Beverly Hills Police Department Traffic Bureau will be conducting a DUI Sobriety/Drivers License Checkpoint on Saturday, July 21st. The location of the checkpoint will be westbound Sunset Bl at Sierra Dr. The checkpoint will be in operation from 7:30 p.m. and conclude on July 22nd by 1 a.m.

Long Dead Man on Fountain May Have Had Roommate

(WeHo News) – The second badly decomposed body found in West Hollywood in a month poses tough questions for investigators as details emerge about the residents of the apartment in which the man was found. Apparently two men occupied the small apartment at 7654 Fountain Avenue until one month ago. While one of the two men decomposed, the other apparently made himself scarce. No one in the building has seen him or his car for roughly four to five weeks. Investigators refuse to share any information they might have, but neighbors are willing to talk, if not always willing to attach their name to reports.

Fire Ravages Former Home of RHOBH Star Lisa Vanderpump

The former home of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Vanderpump was heavily damaged on Friday evening by a massive fire. The fire broke out around 6:30PM in the exclusive gated Beverly Park community located in the Beverly Hills Post Office area. First arriving firefighters forced entry through the ground’s gates to find moderate smoke pouring from the roof of the two-story French chateau-style mansion. Additional firefighters were immediately requested. Entry was again forced, this time into the 15,480 square-foot residence.

Hot Tub Motor Sparks Deck Fire in Laurel Canyon

At 8:45AM Saturday morning, reports started to pour in to Weho Daily about a possible fire in the Laurel Canyon area. “Fire helicopter circling low over Kirkwood Bowl area of Laurel Canyon, area smells vaguely of smoke,” said Mark Wheaton. “Six engines-2 hook and ladders-roaring up Laurel Canyon,” said Jason R.”What’s going on?” “Fire brigade in laurel canyon up kirkwood. Helicopters too…”

Naked Man Climbs on Cars, Wants to ‘Inch Like an Inchworm’

As we reported live on Twitter, a naked man was reported running up and down the Hollywood Hills on June 12 at about 11:30AM around Outpost Drive and Franklin, even climbing on top of cars. There were paparazzi on scene since a lot of celebrities live in the area so they were able to capture the magical moments on video and in photos. In a video shown on TMZ, the man is being handcuffed by LAPD and says that he wants to ‘roll down the hill and inch like an inchworm’ while also spotting some gum on the pavement nearby and trying to lick it up. Photos from the incident were posted showing the man on top of a car trying to eat the antenna and they even made it into a UK newspaper that showed the man being cuffed by LAPD.
