Grammy-nominated “it girl” Skylar Grey makes her Sunset Strip debut tonight at The Roxy Theatre. Signed to Linkin Park’s Machine Shop Recordings imprint, Grey’s voice has been heard on tracks by Dr. Dre and Lupe Fiasco in addition to lending her song writing genius to a number of other A-list collaborations. SUPER-SIZED PICK OF THE WEEK: This Wednesday, Nov. 2 is a night of nothing but metal on The Sunset Strip. Much like Mogwai being fed after midnight, metal fans will be multiplying exponentially as they storm The Strip for head banging shows at the Key Club, Whisky A Go-Go, and The Viper Room. Here’s the info:

Thursday, Nov. 3 the Viper Room presents multi-year SSMF veterans Lady Sinatra. Kicking off their three-date November residency, this local juggernaut comes out fighting with a stacked bill featuring Death By Stereo, Halos, Uniform Standard and The Glory Stompers. Return for round two at The Roxy Theatre when South African import The Parlotones takes the stage on Friday, Nov. 4. The critically acclaimed quartet has been a fixture in the European rock scene for years, and is rapidly expanding beyond their “those the know” fanbase here in The States. Double up on picks this Saturday, Nov. 5 with a book signing by notable producer Butch Walker at Book Soup followed by metal mascot Metal Sanaz at the Whisky A Go-Go. Walker will discuss and sign Drinking with Strangers: Music Lessons from a Teenage Bullet Belt, which provides the inside story of this Grammy-winning Producer of the Year’s music career, including work with Weezer, Katy Perry, Pink and Panic! At the Disco. After the signing, continue down The Strip to the Whisky for a night featuring Metal Sanaz’s hand-picked performances by Ana Kefr, Diffuse, Animal, Bleached in Black, Bazerk and more. Take a stroll this Sunday, Nov. 6, and check out GuitarTown on The Sunset Strip before it exits the boulevard. The 10-foot-tall art guitars will be on display through Nov. 14, before they are auctioned off for charity in December.
