Between 400,000 and 500,000 people are expected for the 41st annual Gay Pride Parade in West Hollywood today.
The parade begins at 11AM after a press conference at Crescent Heights and Santa Monica Blvd where public figures will speak along with the California Department of Corrections Officer, Andrew Johnson, who was initially denied permission to march in uniform with the law enforcement contingent in the parade. That decision was quickly reversed after heavy media attention.
After the parade, the Pride Festival will be open all day with food, fun, vendors and entertainment all day long and into the night. The festival takes place on San Vicente between Santa Monica Blvd and Melrose, including West Hollywood Park.
