Tonight, explore one of the biggest scandals in the history of art history when Book Soup hosts Los Angeles Times investigative journalist Jason Felch as he presents Chasing Aphrodite: The Hunt for Looted Antiquities at the World’s Richest Museum. The book is a fascinating read that documents Felch’s investigation into the Getty museum’s illicit antiquity acquisitions; a scandal that resulted in the indictment of former Getty curator Marion True for trafficking, and the seizing of 40 artifacts that were returned to the Italian government. Signing and discussion begins at 7 p.m.

DOUBLE PICK(S) OF THE WEEK: Two big shows on Wednesday, June 1, whether you prefer rock or hip-hop. The Key Club hosts Tinie Tempah, one of hip-hop’s hottest, most talked about rising stars. Hailing from London, the show marks a limited U.S. engagement and one of his only non-arena plays. Come see the artist that everyone from Adele to Pharrell Williams is lining up to work with. Tickets are $18-$20 and doors open at 8 p.m.

Half a block away, The Roxy Theatre presents rock revolutionaries Outernational, featuring drummer extraordinaire Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers). This proactive, politically minded quintet has garnered the attention of guitar god Tom Morello, who has worked with the band as a producer, and even goes as far as to call them “the next Rage Against The Machine.” See what all the hype is about. The Tender Box, Beatmo and The Red Paintings round out the bill. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10 in advance.

Join rock muse Metal Sanaz on Thursday, June 2 as she presents Metal Scene at the world famous Whisky A Go-Go. Featuring handpicked talent straight from the expert herself, this month’s show is set to feature tinnitus inducing metalheads Fracture, God’s Weapon, Hed Rush and Kaustik. Sign of the best! Doors open at 7 p.m. Stay tuned to for an exclusive interview with Sanaz herself.

The Roxy Theatre presents a night of sexy and talented sirens of song on Friday, June 3. Yes, the stars have aligned, and brought together some of the hottest frontwomen in music for an evening of ass-kicking-with-a-stiletto rock and roll. Don’t miss industrial rockers the Kidneythieves, down-tempo shoegazers 8MM, and local lovelies The Shakers. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $12. And if that wasn’t enough, goddess of all things party DJ Tuesdae and superstar/celeb drummer Samantha Maloney present their new dance night Bridge & Tunnel Girls. This new On The Rox residency pays homage to the girls’ hometown with busty old school jams and big hair. Party! Doors open late at 10 p.m. Free entrance!

Saturday, June 4 hide your wives and hide your daughters cause Blackboard Jungle is back!  That’s right, the Viper Room proudly welcomes the hard partying Hollywood legends for their once a year reunion show.
