Fred Ordornez, the lead singer of a band named Feedbach, remains in the intensive care unit at Cedars-Sinai hospital after being struck by a vehicle fleeing the scene of an assault at the Whisky-a-Go-Go on Monday night.

Weho Daily spoke with a woman who identified herself as the girlfriend of Ordornez who said that the primary area concern is his brain, and that there were no broken bones or other serious injuries. It did sound like he has been responding to commands and has been communicating a bit, so that’s great news.

Members of the band Feedbach including Fred Ordornez (front), Clif Chavez and Jeff Ochoa.

He is said to have sustained bruising to the front and right side of his brain, and has experienced some bleeding. He remains on a ventilator with sedation as his natural breathing has been rapid.

The band posted an update about the incident to their Facebook page:

Hello friends. We had a great show @ the Whiskey. Then tragedy struck. After our set a fight broke out.The brawlers got in their car to get away and ended up hitting our singer Fred, putting him in the ICU at Cedars Sinai hospital. On behalf of Clif, Dave and myself we ask for your prayers & well wishes for Fred and his family. Fred is a strong person and we know he’ll pull through better than before. Thanks. –Jef Dharma
