Just about a week ago, we passed on a report about coyote sightings south of Weho.  Today, we’re still hearing a number of coyote reports in that area, which seems to provide more confirmation that one or more coyotes are spending time around these streets.

The pattern on the map makes us wonder if the coyote(s) are coming out of the Hollyw0od Hills and making their way down or if one or more has found a place to live around there.  We have not heard recent reports of coyotes further north in West Hollywood, however.

We heard from reader @hollywoodmya on Twitter this morning who reported being stared down by a coyote as she walked her chihuahuas around Croft and Willoughby.

Reported coyote sightings in last few weeks.

Just a bit later, around 9:30am, we heard that the LAPD was on the scene with a coyote around Sweetzer and Lindenhurst (close to San Vicente).  The sightings were close together and could be the same animal, which would mean that it made a journey several blocks south and across two major streets in a short time.

LAPD officers were in the process of figuring out what to do about it.  Animal control didn’t seem like they were going to interfere with it unless it was threatening people, but officers on the scene were reluctant to do nothing as people living in the neighborhood were fearful.

Yesterday, we had another report of a sign warning of two cats being killed in the area, one around the 400 block of Flores, and the other at Rosewood and Flores.  The sign was spotted by Weho Daily reader Stephen Humphries.

The previous signs reported by Mondette talked about another cat having been killed around 4th and Orlando.

One of the signs in the Mondette report said that a pack of coyotes had been seen at The Grove.

A rep for The Grove explicitly denied the report of a pack being sighted at the shopping center, but we’re not sure how they can be aware of everything that might have happened on the large property.  Perhaps they meant to say that they are not aware of any sightings on their property.  We’re posting the information again as the report seems plausible and something to be aware of, even if it is not confirmed.
